Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System is seeking a Transporter to provide direct basic patient care and transportation under the guidance of the Registered Nurse. This role includes coordinating transport, ensuring proper equipment, and maintaining patient privacy throughout movement within the hospital.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and a Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire, with demonstrated experience working with patients and a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing and transport patients to designated areas.
• Transport medical equipment, medical records, lab specimens, meal trays and materials; ensure privacy and proper handling.
• Fill in dispatcher duties and utilize the dispatch database to meet patient care needs.
• Serve as liaison between team resources and customers; manage day-to-day operations.
• Demonstrate effective time management.
• Adhere to safe patient handling policies and equipment competence (beds, wheelchairs, stretchers, oxygen, IV poles/pumps).
• Maintain a clean, safe environment with stocked supplies and working equipment.
• Assist nursing with basic patient care.
• Perform job-specific duties as assigned.
