Job summary

Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE is seeking a Transfer Center Specialist to coordinate interfacility transfers, serve as a central hub between referring providers, transport teams, and hospital departments.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and experience with EHR systems; day shifts with potential evenings or weekends, and a focus on safe, timely patient movement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• EMT, LPN, or RN education or certification preferred.
• IAMTCS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate incoming and outgoing transfer requests to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Maintain constant communication with transport teams (ground and air) for updates and contingencies.
• Secure and communicate bed assignments to receiving teams as patients are transferred.
• Document each transfer interaction in the EHR/transfer systems to support continuity of care and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor weather conditions for air transport to ensure safe patient travel when needed.
