Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a full-time CNA - Patient Care Tech - EMT for the Emergency Service-SJH location in Tampa. The role combines patient care duties with potential ER-specific EMT responsibilities, working under licensed nurses to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Strong communication and documentation are essential. Qualified candidates will have BLS certification and either 6 months acute care experience or 1 year SNF experience, with EMT/paramedic options for ER exposure.

Responsibilities

Summary:
This is a dual position that includes the primary job responsibilities of a Patient Care Technician & one of the following roles: Cardiac Monitor Technician, Mental Health Tech &/or Unit Secretary. Works under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse providing patient care in the clinical setting. Cares for a group of assigned patients with various needs to ensure safe, high-quality care is delivered. Care includes but not limited to, providing for patient's daily needs such as hygiene, mobility, nutrition, toileting, ensuring safety measures are in place, communication with patient and care team, documentation of care provided. Additional skills as validated include urinary catheter insertion and removal, removal IV reseal, superpubic catheter care, telemetry lead placement & ostomy care/maintenance.

Minimum requirements include one of the following: 6 months acute care experience

or 1-year Skilled Nursing Facility experience; or successfully completes a BayCare sponsored Nursing Assistant or PCT Internship; or completion of Nursing Fundamentals (RN); or Nursing Foundation (LPN) Programs; or EMT certification / Paramedic license for ER only; or completed a PCT or Nursing Assistant program which includes at least 40 hours of an external clinical component.

Preferred Experience: 1 year - Hospital in related field.
