Job summary

Community Care Physicians is hiring a full-time Patient Support Representative for our Family Practice Guilderland office. The role runs Monday through Friday, 7:00am–3:45pm, and focuses on answering phones in a high-volume call center and scheduling patient appointments.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience, strong computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education is desirable.
• Minimum of one year work experience.
• Strong computer skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures is preferred.
• Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain relationships with patients and staff.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Answer a multi-line phone system and forward calls or handle calls for appointments.
• Remove messages from the system and return patient calls as needed.
• Cancel and reschedule patients when necessary.
• Schedule patient appointments following office protocols.
• Document verbal conversations in the patient record accurately and timely.
• Transfer/retrieve office phones to/from the answering service.
• Handle extra calls and direct them appropriately.
• Process incoming calls/messages per office policy.
