Community Care Physicians Albany Family Medicine is hiring a full-time Patient Support Specialist to join the Albany office. This 40-hour week runs Monday through Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm. The role, formerly called Medical Secretary, focuses on patient check-in, scheduling, and front-desk support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education desirable.
• Previous clerical experience in a medical practice preferred.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology.
• Knowledge of office procedures and confidentiality is essential.
• Ability to provide courteous, professional customer service.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and checking in patients as they arrive.

• Schedule and manage patient appointments following protocols.
• Arrange follow-up appointments as directed by providers.
• Obtain patient signatures for waivers per insurance requirements.
• Organize and monitor the provider's daily schedule.
• Maintain timely patient flow and accurate demographic information.
• Verify insurance coverage and update records as needed.

Job description

Our Albany Family Medicine office is hiring a full-time Patient Support Specialist to join their team! This is a 40 hour work week, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.

The ideal candidate will have superior customer service skills, preferably in the medical field. This position is formerly known as a Medical Secretary.

Responsibilities:

• Greeting and checking in patients when they arrive to the office.
• Process incoming telephone calls/messages based on office policy and procedure.
• Schedule appointments for patients, following office protocols for access to care.
• Schedule all follow up appointments as directed by the providers or as indicated on encounter forms.
• Obtain patient signature on the appropriate waiver(s) according to insurance requirements
• Organize and monitor the provider's daily schedule.
• Maintain timely patient flow.
• Verify patient insurance coverage/demographic information at each visit and update when necessary

Compensation: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
