Job summary

Community Care Physicians is seeking a full-time Patient Support Specialist for our Albany Family Medicine office. This 40-hour work week runs Monday through Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with a recruitment and retention bonus potential up to $1,000.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, preferably in a medical setting. Prior clerical experience in a medical practice is preferred, along with knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education desirable.
• Previous clerical experience in a medical practice preferred.
• Strong computer skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients when they arrive at the office.
• Process incoming calls/messages based on office policy and procedure.
• Schedule patient appointments following office protocols for access to care.
• Schedule follow up appointments as directed by providers or encounter forms.
• Obtain patient signature on waivers according to insurance requirements.
• Organize and monitor the provider's daily schedule.
• Maintain timely patient flow.
• Verify patient insurance coverage/demographic information at each visit and update as needed.
