Job summary

San Diego American Indian Health Center is seeking a Patient Services Supervisor for the Medical Department. You will oversee front-office operations, lead the Patient Service Representatives, and ensure high-quality, patient-centered services compliant with FQHC standards.

You will manage the closed-loop referral process, monitor outreach activities, and coach staff to improve patient communication and appointment conversion.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years related experience in front desk, patient access, or health system operations.
• Experience serving a multicultural population preferred.
• FQHC and/or public health background preferred.
• Familiarity with Indian Health Clinics or Community Health Clinics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily front-office operations and ensure patient-centered services in alignment with FQHC standards.
• Provide leadership to Patient Service Representatives, Referral Coordinator, and Patient Engagement Coordinator.
• Oversee closed-loop referral workflow from order placement through PCP follow-up in eClinicalWorks.
• Monitor outreach and scheduling efforts to meet access and engagement targets.
• Ensure accurate patient data maintenance in all relevant EHR and registration systems.
• Support department workflows, performance expectations, and process improvements in collaboration with leadership.
