Job summary

UPMC is hiring a full-time Patient Service Representative to support the Kline Health Center team in Harrisburg. The role involves greeting patients, guiding check-in with self-service tech, collecting copayments, updating demographics, and scheduling follow‑ups across the continuum of care.

We value strong customer service, accuracy with registrations, and ability to help patients navigate MyUPMC. Prior medical office or billing experience and familiarity with Epic are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a medical / billing / fiscal or customer service function is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• Experience with health records systems (Epic or similar) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm greeting for all patients and assist with check-in.
• Collect copayments and other payments at the point of service.
• Update patient registration and schedule follow‑ups as needed.
• Verify insurance benefits with carriers and assist patients with MyUPMC portal registration.
