Qualifications

• Must successfully complete EPIC certification and maintain fluency with the system.
• Must obtain certification in the approved patient crisis response program as required by the clinic.
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• One year of relevant experience in scheduling, registration, and administrative support in a medical/healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Schedule new and follow-up patient appointments and confirm before service date.
• Reschedule or reassign appointments and coordinate with supervisor to resolve concerns.
• Maintain contact with patients, clinics, and departments regarding insurance clearance and follow-ups.
• Monitor Epic work queue and caseload reports for internal/external consults.
• Assist in training new Patient Services Specialist staff and serve as backup.
• Handle patient cost estimates and determine patient liability and payment arrangements.
• Process various types of insurance for clinics/providers and stay updated on requirements.
