Job summary

Scripps Health is hiring for a Full-Time Patient Service Representative in the Chest Medicine department at the Anderson Medical Pavilion in La Jolla. The role involves front-line patient interaction, registration, and check-out, with a Monday–Friday 8AM–5PM schedule and benefits coverage.

You will handle patient data, scheduling, referrals, and customer service while contributing to a positive patient experience and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate proficiency in computer applications, mathematics, and handling monies.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities; able to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, assign Medical Record Number, schedule appointments, process payments, collect documents, and assist with check-out.
• Respond to patient billing and payment inquiries in a timely manner.
• Verify demographics and insurance information; prepare end-of-day reporting and payment reconciliation.
• Schedule and confirm appointments in person or by phone; enter insurance information.
• Initiate and validate referrals and authorizations.
• Provide proactive customer service, listen to patients, and escalate issues as needed.
