Job summary

The Patient Service Representative at Lowell Community Health Center is the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff. This role delivers excellent customer service, manages patient intake and registration, verifies insurance, schedules appointments, performs collections, and supports administrative operations in a fast-paced clinic setting.

The position works with Health Benefits Navigators and care teams to ensure accurate data in the EHR, adherence to HIPAA, and smooth patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare admin education preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or customer service preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare regulations preferred.
• Bilingual language skills highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, greeting and directing them and handling intake and registrations.
• Verify insurance eligibility, collect information, and support prior authorizations as needed.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments with accuracy in the EHR.
• Explain charges, collect payments, and guide patients to financial assistance resources.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain and update patient records and collaborate with care teams for smooth workflow.
• Assist with referrals, front desk operations, and ongoing training as required.
