Job summary

Beebe Healthcare in a coastal Delaware community seeks a patient registration professional to gather demographic, insurance, and medical information for treatment and billing. You will enter data into the EHR, verify eligibility, and support the flow of patient information.

Role requires familiarity with medical terminology, strong communication, and the ability to handle confidential information in a fast-paced setting across Beebe locations.

Qualifications

• Two years experience in hospital/medical office environment with familiarity of registration and insurance.
• Ability to communicate with public in a courteous manner.
• Ability to adapt to change in order to meet patient and organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients or representatives to obtain demographic and insurance information for treatment, billing, contracting, and data analysis.
• Inputs registration information into computer system, verifies accuracy, and scans documents.
• Prepares required forms for completion and ensures they are explained and presented clearly to patients.
• Receives and reviews medical documentation and assists in processing based on scope and duties.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and whether a referral is needed for visit using online resources and portals.
• Directs patients to correct locations and assists as needed.
• Answers phones and logs messages as part of daily responsibilities.
• Assists clinical staff with clerical tasks and daily workflow in the practice.
