Job summary

St. George Surgery Center is seeking a Registration and Scheduling professional to greet patients, verify demographics, collect payments, and register patients for surgery. You will coordinate insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and ensure accurate entry of patient information in the system.

The role also involves answering calls, triaging patient needs, managing end-of-day processes, and maintaining confidential records in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to understand and interpret policies and regulations.
• Strong information systems knowledge - Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a courteous and professional manner.
• Answer all incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner.
• Respond to the patients’ needs or direct them to the appropriate person for assistance.
• Take detailed messages and confirm the appropriate people receive them.
• Establish an understanding of core center operations to assist in triage.
• Ensure that patients’ needs are handled promptly and efficiently.
• Prepare new charts with insurance cards and demographics and obtain signatures on required forms.
• Verify demographic and insurance information at each visit.
• Enter patient charges and payments on the day of surgery.
