Job summary

Allergy Partners in Ocean, NJ is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our team. In this role you will register patients, answer calls, schedule appointments, and collect payments at the point of service.

You should have at least two years of experience in a medical office or customer service, and be proficient with scheduling, basic insurance terms, and maintaining patient records. We offer full-time employment with benefits including 401(k), health, vision and dental insurance, HSA,

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office or customer service position.
• Proven success asking for payment, making change, and balancing a cash drawer.
• Working knowledge of basic managed care terminology and practices.
• Familiarity with scheduling and rearranging appointments effectively.
• Proven experience handling challenging patients/customers and dealing with conflict in elevated/stressful situations.
• Neat, professional appearance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bi-lingual is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Answers the telephone professionally and pleasantly. Screens and directs calls; makes appointments as necessary.
• Screens visitors and responds to routine information requests from patients and vendors.
• Maintains front-office equipment and supplies; ensures faxes are cleared and filed.
• Opens, dates, stamps, and delivers mail daily.
• Assembles files and maintains patient charts; runs reports and prepares encounters for next day.
• Balances daily transactions; posts charges and payments; processes payments and receipts.
