Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a medical office or customer service, familiarity with practice management software (GE Centricity a plus), and strong communication skills in a HIPAA-compliant environment. Full-time and part-time options available with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office or customer service position.
• Proven success asking for payment, balancing a cash drawer and obtaining payments.
• Working knowledge of basic managed care terminology and practices.
• Familiarity with scheduling and rearranging appointments effectively.
• Experience with practice management and electronic health record software (GE Centricity a plus).

Responsibilities

• Answers the telephone professionally and directs calls; schedules appointments.
• Screens visitors and responds to routine information requests.
• Verifies demographics and insurance information for new and established patients.
• Checks out patients and collects payment; processes payments and balances daily.
• Ensures accurate posting of charges and maintains patient charts.
• Maintains reception area neat and professional at all times.
