Job summary

UPMC Three Rivers Orthopedic Associates in Aspinwall, PA is hiring a full-time Patient Services Representative. The role is Monday–Friday daylight hours, 7:30am–4pm, with no evenings or weekends, to join our care team.

You will welcome patients, collect copayments, verify insurance, assist with registrations, schedule follow-ups, and guide patients through the MyUPMC portal, ensuring a smooth, patient-centered experience across practice and hospital settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm greeting for all patients
• Guide patient through use of self-arrival technology or check-in at desk
• Collect copayments and any other applicable patient payments at the point of service
• Confirm and/or update patient registration information at checkout
• Schedule follow-up appointments within the practice at checkout
• Schedule or connect patient to resources to schedule for ancillary services at checkout
• Help patients navigate the healthcare system with clear instructions and follow-up on unresolved questions
• Understand and act on service recovery to meet the UPMC Experience
• Register patients in Biometrics program and explain benefits
• Promote MyUPMC patient portal and assist with registration
• Educate patients about financial responsibility and connect to advocacy resources
• Verify insurance benefits with the appropriate carrier via online or phone inquiries
• Obtain patient or family member signature for consent to treatment and financial responsibility under HIPAA
• Triage phone calls to other areas and clinical providers
• Assist with administrative duties including scanning medical records and faxing; adhere to system-wide competencies and behaviors
• Stay informed on navigation and usability of the MyUPMC Portal and guide patients accordingly
