Job summary

Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI) is seeking a Patient Services Specialist to handle front-end operations at our Mesa clinic. You will register patients, verify demographics, and maintain electronic charts in the EHR/EPM system, coordinating with the clinical team to ensure smooth intake.

You will also verify insurance, identify amounts due, explore AHCCCS funding options when needed, and schedule follow-up appointments, contributing to a patient-centered, efficient clinical workflow.

Qualifications

  • Highschool Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Business or Healthcare preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience with insurance verification and/or front desk in medical settings preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of AHCCCS, insurance, and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Register patients and verify demographics; create and maintain patient electronic charts.
  • Answer incoming calls and route appropriately; schedule intake appointments in the EHR/EPM system.
  • Complete insurance verifications and identify patient amounts due at time of service.
  • Identify funding sources for uninsured patients and refer AHCCCS screening and application.
  • Notify clinical team when registration is completed and schedule follow-up appointments as indicated.

Job Summary

The Patient Services Specialist is responsible for the front-end business operations for the assigned clinic including patient registration, verification of patient demographic information, create and maintaining patient electronic chart. This position answers incoming calls to the clinic and routes as needed, schedules intake appointments within established timeframes in the CBI EHR/EPM scheduling system. Obtains necessary demographic information including, but not limited to: name, address, phone number, e-mail address, insurance information. Completes insurance verifications for each patient visit and identifies any patient amounts due at the time service is provided. For uninsured patients, identifies any potential funding source, and identifies those potentially eligible for AHCCCS and refers to the eligibility and enrollment specialist for AHCCCS screening and application. Notifies a clinical team member when registration is completed for services to be completed. Schedules follow up appointments for clinic services as indicated by the clinical team.

Skills/Requirements
  • Highschool Diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare is preferred.
  • 1- 3 years of experience with insurance verification and/or front desk experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not required of this position.
  • Must have knowledge of AHCCCS, insurance, and strong customer service skills.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
