Job summary

Community Bridges, Inc. in Tucson seeks a Patient Services Specialist to handle front-end operations at the clinic, including patient registration, demographic verification, and maintaining electronic charts.

You will answer calls, schedule intake appointments within set timeframes, and obtain demographic and insurance information to support care teams. You will verify insurance, identify amounts due, assist uninsured patients with AHCCCS screening, and coordinate with AHCCCS enrollment

Qualifications

  • Highschool Diploma or GED is required.
  • 1-3 years of experience with insurance verification and/or front desk experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not required.
  • Must have knowledge of AHCCCS, insurance, and strong customer service skills.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Register patients and verify demographic information in the EHR/EPM system.
  • Schedule intake appointments within established timeframes.
  • Complete insurance verifications and identify patient amounts due at time of service.
  • Identify funding sources for uninsured patients and refer AHCCCS screening and enrollment to the appropriate specialist.
  • Notify clinical team when registration is completed and coordinate follow-up appointments.

CBI provides residential, outpatient, inpatient, patient-centered medical homes, medication-assisted treatment, and crisis services to individuals experiencing crisis, opioid use disorder, homelessness, and mental illness.

Patient Services Specialist

The Patient Services Specialist is responsible for the front-end business operations for the assigned clinic including patient registration, verification of patient demographic information, create and maintaining patient electronic chart. This position regularly interacts with current and potential patients, family members of people receiving services as well as community stakeholders and will require excellent communication and customer service skills. Completes insurance verifications for each patient visit and identifies any patient amounts due at the time service is provided. For uninsured patients, identifies any potential funding source, and identifies those potentially eligible for AHCCCS and refers to the eligibility and enrollment specialist for AHCCCS screening and application.

Notifies a clinical team member when registration is completed for services to be completed. Schedules follow up appointments for clinic services as indicated by the clinical team.
