Job summary

Community Bridges, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our behavioral health team. Under the supervision of an RN, you will deliver direct patient care on-site and support a multidisciplinary team.

You will help maintain safety, assist with routine tasks, and contribute to a compassionate, recovery-focused environment. Qualified candidates have relevant education/experience; a strong commitment to patient dignity is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with related behavioral health coursework or experience.
  • 18 credits post-high school in behavioral health plus 2 years related work experience, or four years of related health work experience.
  • Associates degree with two years of behavioral health experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field with at least one year of behavioral health experience, or master’s/bachelor’s in a related field.
  • Six months of recovery from substance use/mental health preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN and multidisciplinary team.
  • Identify environmental or patient safety concerns and escalate to RN/lead staff.
  • Support unit operations and safety initiatives as directed.
  • Assist with routine tasks to support compassionate behavioral health care.

Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a member of the multi‑disciplinary treatment team that provides direct care to behavioral health patients working under the medical direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) in person or telephonic. The primary focus is direct patient care as directed and delegated by the RN, Lead PCT, Operation Supervisor, Operations Administrator, or Program Manager. The PCT is also responsible for the safety of the unit they are assigned to, including identifying environmental and patient specific safety concerns, and elevating those concerns to the RN, RN Manager, Operations Supervisor, or designee as needed.

Skills/Requirements
  • Highschool diploma or GED and either: * 18 credit hours of post‑high school education in a field related to behavioral health and two years of full‑time behavioral health work experience; or
  • Four years of full‑time behavioral health work experience, or
  • Has an associate’s degree and at least two years of full‑time behavioral health work experience; or
  • Has a bachelor’s degree in a field other than behavioral health and at least one year of full‑time behavioral health work experience; or
  • Has a master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in a field related to behavioral health; or
  • Minimum of six months of recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders preferred.
