Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1 year of clerical experience required; 1 year of medical business office or significant public contact preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10/CPT-4 coding preferred.
• Typing 45–55 words per minute with accuracy; good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and schedule initial and follow-up visits.
• Update patient information and medical records.
• Handle appointment calls and determine appropriate provider and visit type.
• Collect payments (co-pays/ deductibles) and document receipts.
• Enter ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding for billables; submit billing invoices daily.
• Transcribe non-medical dictation and prepare monthly reports.
• Assist in inventory tracking and act as receptionist as needed.
