At DMU, you will make a meaningful contribution to the future of Medicine and Health Sciences. We are seeking a Patient Services Representative (.5) to support the Physical Therapy Clinic and Sports Performance Center by scheduling appointments, coordinating patient records, communicating with physicians’ offices, and performing clerical and administrative duties.

What You’ll Do

• Answer incoming calls and greet patients/visitors, providing friendly customer support, determining their needs, and directing them appropriately. Escort patients if needed.
• Schedule patient appointments following the registration system procedures.
• Perform patient registration, insurance verification, and authorization, along with data entry related to registration.
• Monitor and update patient information to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collect co-pays and payments, provide receipts, balance the cash drawer, and route funds appropriately.

What We Are Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior front office experience in a medical or dental setting preferred.
• Knowledge of third-party payer regulations.
• Basic proficiency with email, internet, Microsoft Office, electronic health records, and related software.
• Ability to operate office equipment such as copiers and telephones.
