Patient Services RepresentativeThe Patient Access Representative (PAR) plays a crucial role in the emergency center's operational efficiency by ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process for patients. The role requires strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety. This position is integral to fostering a supportive and efficient environment in the Emergency Center, ensuring patients receive the care they need while upholding the standards of the healthcare facility.Qualifications requiredHigh School Diploma or equivalentMinimum of 2 years of experience in a Patient Access Representative role within a Hospital, ER, or ClinicPrevious experience in medical registration, admitting, and scheduling in an ER setting is preferredEssential Job functions and responsibilities1. Front Desk Operations:Greet patients and guests with a cheerful demeanorDetermine necessary services and direct patients accordinglyCollect demographic information and ensure proper signatures for billing accuracyMaintain logs of patient information and manage phone inquiries professionallyManage office supplies and maintain a clean and welcoming environment2. Financial Responsibilities:Collect payments via cash, checks, and credit card for co-pays and account balancesMaintain an accurate financial ledger and perform daily reconciliation of patient accounts3.
