Job summary

Jobtailor in Portsmouth, VA is seeking a patient access front desk representative to be the first point of contact for patient inquiries and to assist with problem-solving, scheduling appointments, and collecting copays.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of front desk experience preferred.

  • Ability to work with diverse colleagues and patients.

  • Technological capability across multiple communication and documentation systems.
  • Familiarity with MS Office software (Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to operate with integrity and comply with work standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and 42-CFR Part 2 desired.

  • Assist with problem solving patient issues
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments
  • Collect point-of-service payments, including patient copays and other patient financial responsibility
  • Communicate with clinic teams and central support regarding appointments and follow-up needs
  • Attend required meetings and huddles and collaborate within the clinic team
  • Maintain accurate new and current patient accounts, including insurance and billing information
  • Operate communication and documentation systems while following HIPAA, 42-CFR Part 2, and regulatory requirements
