CRH Healthcare in Clinton, MD is seeking a Patient Services Representative for our urgent care clinics. In this role you will greet patients, check in, verify insurance, collect copays and coordinate with clinical staff to ensure a smooth patient flow.

You are the first point of contact, must be friendly and professional, and able to handle phones, scheduling, and basic computer tasks including EMR. This position offers on-the-job training and a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of reception/front desk experience.
• Customer service experience in healthcare outpatient setting preferred.
• Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts during the week or weekend as needed.
• Ability to escort or transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher when needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in waiting area in a friendly manner.
• Check in patients, verify insurances, update patient information, collect copay.
• Serve as patient advocate to coordinate with clinical staff.
• Answer incoming phone calls promptly.
• Maintain a neat and orderly waiting area.
• Assist patients with ambulatory needs, including wheelchairs.
• Open/close clinic procedures and reporting tasks.
• Perform additional clerical duties as necessary.

The Patient Services Representative provides excellent customer service to patients and clerical support to clinical staff. Employees in this role are the first point of contact with patients. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, friendly and has strong customer service and communication skills.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Promptly greet patients and visitors in the waiting area in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Check in patients, verify insurances, update necessary patient information in the system, and collect copay.
• Serve as a patient advocate to provide world-class care in coordination with clinical staff and providers.
• Promptly answer incoming phone calls.
• Maintain a neat and orderly waiting room.
• Assist patients with ambulatory difficulties, including obtaining wheelchairs and provide assistance with walking.
• Responsible for opening and closing clinic procedures and reporting.
• Perform additional clerical duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year of reception/front desk experience (coordinator, receptionist, clerk, agent, specialist, etc.)
• Customer service experience in a healthcare outpatient setting preferred
• Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts during the week or weekend as needed
• Ability to escort or transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher when needed
• Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Basic computer skills including familiarity with electronic medical records
• Types 25 words per minute
