Job summary

CRH Healthcare is seeking a Patient Services Representative to greet patients, check in, verify insurance, and collect copays across our Maryland urgent care clinics. You will support clinical staff, answer calls, and maintain an organized waiting area while assisting patients with mobility needs where required.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least 1 year of front desk or reception experience, with healthcare customer service preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year reception/front desk experience.
• Customer service experience in healthcare outpatient setting preferred.
• Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, helpful manner.
• Check in patients, verify insurances, update information, collect copays.
• Advocate for patients and coordinate with clinical staff.
• Answer incoming phone calls promptly.
• Maintain a neat waiting area and assist ambulatory patients as needed.
• Open/close clinic procedures and perform clerical duties.

The Patient Services Representative provides excellent customer service to patients and clerical support to clinical staff. Employees in this role are the first point of contact with patients. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, friendly and has strong customer service and communication skills.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Promptly greet patients and visitors in the waiting area in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Check in patients, verify insurances, update necessary patient information in the system, and collect copay.
• Serve as a patient advocate to provide world-class care in coordination with clinical staff and providers.
• Promptly answer incoming phone calls.
• Maintain a neat and orderly waiting room.
• Assist patients with ambulatory difficulties, including obtaining wheelchairs and provide assistance with walking.
• Responsible for opening and closing clinic procedures and reporting.
• Perform additional clerical duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year of reception/front desk experience (coordinator, receptionist, clerk, agent, specialist, etc.)
• Customer service experience in a healthcare outpatient setting preferred
• Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts during the week or weekend as needed
• Ability to escort or transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher when needed
• Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skillsBasic computer skills including familiarity with electronic medical records
• Types 25 words per minute
