Job Details

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples.
• Research test/client information and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems or directory of services.
• Complete all data entry requirements accurately, including patient registration and test orders.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required, safeguarding assets and credit card information.
• Process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as per test requirements.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory management, stock supplies, and answering phones as needed.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Verify patient demographic info and initials, including post-venipuncture signatures, ensuring tubes are labeled correctly in the patient's presence.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and other departmental logs timely, such as maintenance and temperature logs.
• Complete training courses and stay updated on the latest phlebotomy techniques.
• Stay informed on company communications.

Job Requirements

• Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric care.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
