Job Details
- Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples.
- Research test/client information and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems or directory of services.
- Complete all data entry requirements accurately, including patient registration and test orders.
- Enter billing information and collect payments when required, safeguarding assets and credit card information.
- Process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as per test requirements.
- Perform clerical duties such as inventory management, stock supplies, and answering phones as needed.
- Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Verify patient demographic info and initials, including post-venipuncture signatures, ensuring tubes are labeled correctly in the patient's presence.
- Maintain phlebotomy logs and other departmental logs timely, such as maintenance and temperature logs.
- Complete training courses and stay updated on the latest phlebotomy techniques.
- Stay informed on company communications.
Job Requirements
- Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric care.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Adherence to MAKO policies, procedures, and dress code.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
- Strong customer focus, open communication, adaptability, and alignment with the MAKO Way.
