Job Description
- The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR II) is the face of our company to patients, drawing quality blood samples and preparing them for lab testing following established procedures.
- Creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures and drawing blood in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
- Assignments may vary between doctor's offices, patient service centers, or other locations as needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities accurately and timely under supervisor guidance.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Conduct forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices.
- Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling and documentation.
- Maintain required records and promote a positive image to patients and staff.
Job Requirements
- Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Adherence to policies, safety standards, and company principles.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with short notice.
- Strong communication, customer focus, adaptability, and business knowledge.
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in CA, NV, WA.
Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Preferably 2+ years in a Patient Service Center environment.
- Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
