Qualifications

• Must have completed a Medical Terminology course.
• Criminal background check and FBI fingerprint check required; driving record review.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license (subject to restrictions).
• Fluency in Tohono O'odham language and English may be required by department needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and serve as receptionist for the health facility; direct inquiries to proper departments.
• Register patients, verify demographics, insurance, and authorization to bill.
• Schedule physician appointments, clinics, transportation, and outside procedures; coordinate with EMS and tribal transportation.
• Receive, route, and file mail and documents; maintain and reorder forms and supplies.
• Manage time and attendance for unit staff; track hours and attendance records.
• Maintain patient records accuracy and confidentiality; ensure records are complete for billing and care continuity.
• Coordinate referrals and transfers to outside facilities; liaise with external providers.
• Attend monthly department meetings and record minutes; support infection control initiatives.
