Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a patient services coordinator to schedule appointments, perform check-in/out, verify benefits, and assist with authorizations in a clinical practice.

You will coordinate staff, mentor junior members, ensure efficient workflow, and support patient satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time, on-site role requires detail orientation, strong communication, and proficiency with common office software.

Qualifications

• Detail oriented and able to organize work within schedule constraints.
• Able to monitor important and complex projects concurrently.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes/other email software.
• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing, including memorandums and letters.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and facilitates communication between physicians, plans, staff and patients regarding authorization and insurance inquiries.
• Schedules appointments, greets patients, registers and checks in/out; verifies benefits.
• Maintains charts, records and databases; prepares correspondence, billing and reports.
• Provides authorizations, referrals and general clerical support in a patient care environment.
• Trains and mentors staff and provides relief as needed.
