UF Health in Jacksonville is seeking a patient access/registration clerk to coordinate and schedule appointments, collect demographic and financial information, and handle registration tasks for billing and insurance.

The role includes greeting patients, processing laboratory orders, and acting as a liaison among patients, nurses, and physicians while delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups.
• Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Necessary Skills: Excellent decision making, very detailed oriented, excellent verbal communications, basic arithmetic for cashiering, data entry experience, ability to prioritize tasks, handle stressful situations professionally.
• Preferred Licensure/Certifications: ICD-9 and CPT coding preferred; medical terminology course helpful but not required.
• Required Experience: One year experience with third party payors.
• Preferred Experience: Up to four years clerical/customer service experience in a health care related industry.
• Computer experience for imputing data and reviewing patient demographic material.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate and schedule patient appointments to ensure a smooth patient experience.
• Interview patients to obtain accurate demographic and financial information and perform patient registration.
• Obtain required patient signatures and documentation for billing and insurance purposes.
• Process laboratory orders and other diagnostic testing requests through the computer system under physician direction.
• Greet patients on arrival, announce arrivals to clinical staff, and respond to calls for the department or practice.
• Serve as a professional liaison among patients, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members; provide exceptional customer service.
