Job summary

Uphams Corner Health Center seeks a Patient Services Representative – Level II to support the Eye and Dental Care Departments. You will greet patients, collect demographics, schedule visits in the EMR, collect copays, and coordinate with clinics to ensure timely care.

The role requires strong communication, data entry, and customer service skills in a fast-paced environment; bilingual capabilities are highly valued. This is a full-time, on-site position in Dorchester, MA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Excellent communication and sensitivity to patients’ needs.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Proficient data entry, typing and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Register patients; collect and enter demographic info; assign insurance coverage.
• Schedule appointments accurately in the EMR.
• Collect payments including copayments or coinsurance.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and greet patients.
• Observe waiting area and address patient needs.
• Assist patients with forms including medical history and surveys.
• Monitor patient lists and work queues.
• Coordinate with other departments to meet patient needs.
• Obtain referrals when necessary.
• Call patients to remind them of appointments.
• Scan and archive patient information in charts.
• Translate for providers or take messages as needed.
• Monitor prior authorizations and send docs for approvals.
• Follow HIPAA and health center policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
