Job summary

OU Health is seeking a Patient Services Representative II at Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma Children's Hospital. The role coordinates outpatient schedules, assists with clerical tasks and supports front-desk operations to ensure smooth patient flow.

The candidate will handle insurance verification, referrals, payments and portal communications while maintaining confidentiality and delivering high-quality service to patients and staff.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of customer service experience, including at least 6 months in a clinical setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with patients, families and healthcare staff.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments by phone or in person and updates demographics as needed.
• Provides information about clinic operations and directs calls to appropriate staff.
• Obtains and verifies patient demographics and insurance details.
• Balances cash drawer and processes payments with receipts.
• Greets patients at check-in, assists with forms and patient portal usage.
• Coordinates referrals, prior authorizations and follow-up on referrals.
