Job summary

OU Health's Norman Specialty Clinic is seeking a Patient Services Representative (PSR) Level 1 or 2 to coordinate schedules and provide clerical support in an outpatient setting. This role involves greeting patients, collecting demographics, handling insurance information, and ensuring accurate charting and encounter forms.

Responsibilities include scheduling, intake, payments, referrals, and promoting the Patient Portal to improve communication.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively with employees, patients, and external parties.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
• Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
• Keyboarding skills sufficient to meet job needs.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments by telephone or in person.
• Obtains and updates patient demographics and insurance information.
• Answers calls and directs to appropriate staff.
• Balances daily cash drawer and processes payments.
• Prepares charts, encounter forms, and medical records handling.
• Promotes patient portal for improved communication.
• Verifies referrals and coordinates multiple services as needed.
