Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Medical/dental office experience preferred.
• Customer service experience is required.
• Ability to work with a multidisciplinary healthcare team and the public.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Phone etiquette is essential.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and/or lift for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Check in/out patients for appointments and collect copays and balances.
• Enter sliding fee information, if applicable.
• Look up, schedule, reschedule or cancel appointments.
• Post daily payments collected during the day.
• Process credit card payments.
• Schedule and process appointments.
• Answer the phone and direct calls as appropriate.
• Maintain provider schedules by making proper appointments.
• Participate in agency-sponsored staff training events.
• Protect confidentiality of patients and their records per HIPAA.
• Provide guidance to departmental employees regarding clinic policies.
• Keep workspace neat and organized.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude.
• Demonstrate cultural awareness and reduce barriers to care.
• Address patient complaints per complaint resolution process.
• Complete and submit departmental reporting timely.
• Assist in training Patient Services Specialists at designated locations.
• Maintain schedules and approve/review time-off requests.
• Must be available to work at various locations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
