Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years minimum medical experience.
• Computer/typing skills required.
• Clerical experience in a physician's office preferred; EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive patients in a professional and caring manner.
• Gather and update demographics and insurance information.
• Schedule and confirm appointments.
• Obtain authorization and pre-certification.
• Document and follow up on referrals.
• Document and follow up on no-shows and cancellations.
• Answer telephone with proper etiquette.
• Maintain medical records organization.
• Register patients and process payments; post charges and provide receipts.
• Order clerical and clinical supplies and maintain records.
• Monitor waiting rooms and inform on delays.
• Advise families regarding Medicaid coverage and Nemours Financial Assistance.
