Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Physician Practice Patient Assistant for Registry/Per Diem opportunities in the Phoenix, AZ area. The role supports admissions, scheduling, and documentation to ensure smooth patient flow and effective communication among providers and clinical staff.

The position requires a high school diploma and is typically 8am-5pm with part-time shifts. BLS certification is required, and healthcare experience is preferred to enable accurate data collection and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Approximately 6 months of healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient data during intake and escorts to exam rooms, recording vitals and documenting interactions.
• Assists patients with completing documents and initiates interpreter services when needed.
• Maintains clean, organized environments and supports room/tray setup as needed under supervision.
• Handles incoming calls, routes messages, and assists with mail, supplies, and forms.
• Ensures medical records are complete and compliant with state/federal laws.
• Optimizes patient flow using effective communication and scheduling coordination.
