Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Service Representative for a full-time role at Lake Forest Hospital, with occasional travel to the Grayslake clinic. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm or 7:30am-4:00pm, 40 hours weekly.

The PSR supports the service area by checking patients in and out, verifying identities and insurance, collecting co-pays, posting payments, and scheduling appointments while maintaining a welcoming reception.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years of customer service experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Healthcare experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Bilingual abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and guests and verify identity and visit information.
• Check in/out patients and update demographic/insurance data.
• Obtain patient consents and process registrations.
• Collect co-pays and payments; post payments and close cash drawer.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate care across clinics.
• Maintain waiting area cleanliness and inform on delays.
