Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Service Representative in Audiology/ENT to provide front-desk support, check-in/out patients, collect payments, and schedule appointments. The role emphasizes patient-first service within a leading healthcare system.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and 0–2 years in customer service, with healthcare terminology knowledge preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position in Illinois with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years of customer service experience preferred.
• Healthcare setting experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and guests, confirms identity, and provides visit information.
• Checks patients in and out as directed.
• Updates patient identification and demographics/insurance.
• Completes patient registration as needed.
• Collects co-payments, past due balances, and point-of-service payments.
• Posts payments and closes cash drawer at end of day.
• Keeps waiting area clean and comfortable.
• Informs patients of delays or changes in appointment status.
• Schedules appointments as necessary.
• For PSRs in ICCs, floats to other ICCs/departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
