Cleveland Clinic in Canton, OH seeks a Patient Service Specialist to welcome patients and manage registrations from arrival to checkout. You will collect co-pays, assist with kiosk use and help patients schedule, pre-register and enroll in MyChart, coordinating closely with physicians to keep checkout smooth.

This full-time role operates Mon–Thu 7:00am–4:00pm and Fri 7:00am–11:00am, with no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED plus two years in patient registration, scheduling, insurance processing or customer service
• OR an Associate’s Degree and one year of experience
• OR a Bachelor’s Degree

• Provide a comprehensive and proactive patient-centric experience for patients and visitors.
• Investigate, triage and resolve patient issues using HEART model.
• Create a welcoming and professional environment and interact with patients to ensure stellar experiences.
• Register patients, prepare visits, perform telephone triage, verify insurance, collect co-pays, track records, schedule and arrange interpreter services as needed.
• Enter and maintain confidential patient information.
• Educate patients on MyChart and Appointment Pass enrollment.

As a Patient Service Specialist, you’ll help create an exceptional experience for patients, families and visitors from arrival through checkout. You’ll welcome and check in patients, collect co-pays, complete visit preparations, assist with kiosk use, and support patients with scheduling, pre-registration and MyChart enrollment. You’ll also partner closely with physicians to ensure a smooth and efficient checkout process. A caregiver in this position works full-time, Mon—Thur, 7:00am—4:00pm and Fri, 7:00am—11:00am. No weekends or holidays.

• Provide a comprehensive, proactive and “Patients First” experience for patients and visitors.
• Investigate, triage and resolve patient issues using the established HEART model.
• Create a welcome and professional environment, interact with patients and ensure stellar patient experiences.
• Perform patient registration, visit preparation, telephone triage, insurance verification, co-pay collection, patient and record tracking, scheduling, arrival and/or departure desk activities and screening and scheduling of interpreter services.
• Enter and maintain confidential patient information.
• Recruit, enroll and educate patients on MyChart and Appointment Pass.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance processing or customer service
• OR an Associate’s Degree and one year of experience
• OR a Bachelor’s Degree
• Working knowledge of PC window applications
• Ability to perform basic math sufficient to process insurance co-pays

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute or personal computer keyboard skills
• Epic experience

Physical Requirements:

• Dexterity sufficient to operate a PC and other office equipment.
• Requires extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
• Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.
• Must be able to navigate various locations and function in a fast-paced, hectic environment.
• Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $15.75

Maximum hourly: $21.65
