Job summary

Brooks Rehabilitation in Orlando is seeking a Patient Service Representative to deliver premium customer service to patients during outpatient visits. You will greet patients, schedule therapy appointments, verify referrals and insurance, and manage registration packets.

This role requires a high school diploma, at least one year in customer service, and strong verbal and written communication. You will work in a fast-paced clinic, maintain records in Image Now, contribute to performance

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Medical terminology is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of insurance and authorizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates empathy and maintains a positive demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors on arrival.
  • Schedule therapy appointments (including cancellations/rescheduling).
  • Verify referrals and insurance information.
  • Prepare registration packets for the initial visit.
  • Confirm all paperwork and verification information in the system.
  • Coordinate with CIU on urgent verifications as needed.
  • Order supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Perform light cleaning and general office tasks.
  • Create new medical record projects in Image Now upon admission.
  • Generate daily, weekly, monthly reports as needed.
  • Assist Business Office with billing issues on active accounts.
  • Prepare and balance end-of-day summaries and deposits.
  • Log referrals and tracking in Referral Database.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.

DescriptionThe Patient Service Representative (PSR) provides premium customer service experience to assist patients with their outpatient clinic visits. This position requires direct face to face interactions with patients, visitors, therapists, and other clinical support staff.Job Responsibilities:Greets patients and visitors upon arrivalExhibits excellent customer service to patients, coworkers, physicians, insurance companies, as a representative of Brooks Rehabilitation.Schedules therapy appointments for patients, to include cancellations and/or rescheduling.Oversees the clinic waitlist, calls patients for appointment confirmationsVerification of referrals and/or insurance information, works closely with the CIU for urgent verifications as neededPrepare registration packets for the initial visitConfirm all paperwork and verification information is uploaded properly to the systemConfirm valid physician order present prior to scheduling return visits.Order supplies, maintains inventory control, and appropriately stocks clinicPerform light cleaning duties such as wiping walls, counters, tiding up the waiting room, etc.Provides general office support such as filing, copying, and faxing.Creates new medical record projects in the Image Now system upon admission by obtaining all necessary admission forms, insurance information and orders.Generates required daily, weekly, and monthly reports as indicated by management.Serves as the clinic liaison with the Business Office regarding billing issues with active accounts.Prepares and stores accurate end of day summaries and deposit information.Collects patient responsibility payments, provides receipts, prepares revenues for deposit, makes bank deposits according to Policy and closes out/balances day in cash drawer.Checks and responds to work related voicemail and email timely.Logs all referrals and tracking in the Referral DatabaseParticipates in performance improvement activities as needed.Exhibits values of the organization.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED.One year customer service experience required, healthcare experience preferred.Medical terminology is a plusBasic understanding of insurance and authorizations.Excellent Verbal and written communication skills including proper telephone etiquette and in person interactions.Able to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment.Ability to handle difficult situations, display empathy, and maintain a positive demeanor in all interactionsLocation: 515 South Chickasaw Trail Orlando, FL 32825Hours: M-F 8A-5PCompensation: Experience, education and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.Thriving in a culture that you can be proud of, you will also receive many employee benefits such as the following:Competitive PayComprehensive Benefits packageVacation/Paid Time OffRetirement PlanEmployee DiscountsClinical Education and Professional Development ProgramsQualifications
