Part Time - 24 hours

JOB SUMMARY:

The Patient Services Representative will serve as the main point of contact for all patients and the community. This position will receive and process patient referrals, patient registration, verify demographics, obtain insurance cards and identification, and update medical records accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities also include scheduling appointments, transcribing orders, explaining financial options to patients, and maintaining accurate medical records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Provide excellent communication and customer service by greeting patients and the community respectfully.
  2. Process admission paperwork and perform basic insurance verification, ensuring accurate patient identification for billing.
  3. Answer internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
  5. Maintain patient flow and inform supervisors of any issues immediately.
  6. Coordinate and prioritize bed placement to ensure prompt and appropriate patient placement.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
  • High School Degree or GED.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Prior experience in healthcare or related fields is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Cadence, and Connect Care is preferred but not required.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Problem-solving skills, basic computer skills, typing at 40 WPM, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional engagement with staff and patients.
  • Basic math skills.
