Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Medical Group Clinics is seeking a Front Desk/Administrative role in Cookeville, TN for Days and PRN shifts. You will welcome patients, manage check-in/out, and ensure accurate records while coordinating schedules and handling requests for medical records.

You will verify insurance authorizations, precertifications, and assist with co-pays and billing questions with empathy, maintaining a smooth office workflow and accurate daily charges.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of related experience required.
• Professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, professional welcome and assist visitors with check-in/out and records accuracy.
• Manage schedules, confirm appointments, and handle medical record requests to keep clinical team and patients in sync.
• Assist patients by verifying insurance authorizations and precertifications, and help with co-pays and billing questions.
• Submit daily service charges, reconcile deposits, and provide essential clerical support to keep the office organized and welcoming.

• Champion the Patient Experience: Provide a warm, professional welcome for every visitor, guiding them through the check-in/out process and ensuring their records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Navigate the Care Journey: Proactively manage schedules, confirm appointments, and handle medical record requests to keep our clinical team and patients perfectly in sync.
• Provide Financial Clarity: Assist patients by verifying insurance authorizations and precertifications ahead of time, then help them navigate co-payments and billing questions with transparency and empathy.
• Ensure Accuracy & Flow: Maintain the heartbeat of the office by submitting daily service charges, reconciling deposits, and providing the essential clerical support that keeps our environment organized and welcoming.

Education

What minimum requirements you’ll need

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
