Neighborhood Health Center of WNY, Inc. is seeking a Patient Service Representative to greet patients, verify insurance, check them in, and coordinate daily schedules. You will travel to Neighborhood sites as needed and support a smooth patient flow with friendly, accurate service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients at arrival and checks in.
• Verifies patient information and updates in the computer system.
• Confirms appointment times, locations and providers during check-in.
• Communicates delays to the front desk team.
• Assists in confirming appointments.
• Assists in opening and closing procedures.
• Prints daily appointment schedules and front desk reports.
• Verifies insurance through multiple systems and inputs coverage dates.
• Sends patient messages and assists with forms.
• Collects co-payments, including sliding scale if applicable.
• Adheres to cash handling policy.

Patient service representatives greet patients upon arrival, check-in patients, verify insurance information, schedule and change appointments, and collect co-payments. As a patient service representative, youll be the first person patients see when they arrive at Neighborhood, and youll help set the tone for a positive patient visit.

About the Role:

As a patient service representative, kindness and fairness are key as you use your customer service skills in patient interactions. Youll collaborate with other team members to help ensure a smooth flow for the day.

Responsibilities include:

• Welcomes patients
• Verifies patient information and makes corrects in the computer system
• Confirms appointment times, locations, and providers during check-in
• Communicates delays to the front desk lead
• Assists in ensuring appointments are confirmed
• Assists in open and closing procedures
• Prints daily appointment schedules and front desk reports
• Verifies insurance through epaces, heathenet, healthplex
• Inputs insurance information including active/expired dates
• Sends appropriate patient messages
• Assists patients in filling out forms
• Collects co-payments including sliding scale nominal fee
• Adheres to cash handling policy

You will be primarily based at our Blasdell location, 4233 Lake Avenue, and will also travel to other Neighborhood sites as needed.

Must be available to work any shift Monday-Friday between 7:45 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Education and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Able to read, write and speak the English language.
• A second language of Spanish is preferred
