Job summary

Virginia Oral & Facial Surgery is seeking a motivated Patient Service Representative to join our team. This role focuses on creating a positive patient experience in a fast-paced oral surgery environment.

You will handle front-desk duties, verify demographics and insurance, and assist with scheduling and payments. Two years of customer service experience is required, preferably in a medical or dental setting.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer service experience required.
• Experience in a medical or dental practice required.
• Knowledge of insurance processes preferred.
• Ability to multitask.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Confirm and update patient identification, demographic, and insurance information.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation for upcoming appointments.
• Perform all check-in and check-out functions, including collecting necessary information and payments.
• Obtain patient consents/authorizations and process insurance pre-authorizations and referrals.
• Answer incoming calls promptly, document messages, and route inquiries to appropriate personnel.
• Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments as needed.
• Maintain accurate and organized medical records.
• Support overall front-office operations and assist with other duties as assigned.
