Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital is seeking a patient registration professional to greet, check-in, and register patients, coordinating all after-visit activities and communication of payment policies. You will schedule follow-up visits and procedures, collect co-pays, and serve as a liaison between patients and medical staff.

This position requires excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, comfort with computer systems, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

Greets, instructs, directs, schedules, registers, and performs check-in duties for patients. Serves as a liaison between patients and medical support staff. Responsible for coordinating all after-visit activities including: collection, review and update of all practice-specific forms, communicating of payment policies regarding amounts due for current services and prior balances, collection of payments, assistance with scheduling follow-up appointments and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform registration, check-in, and check-out for patient visits
• Schedule follow-up visits, including labs, imaging, and other diagnostic testing
• Collect co-pays
• Call patients for notification of schedule changes

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, management, staff and other customers.
• Exceptional customer service skills including the ability to use independent thinking, sound judgement, and creativity when resolving customer issues.
• Ability to balance priorities and effectively handle challenging situations.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Comfort with computer technology and applications.

Education

High school diploma or GED required.

Experience

Previous health-care experience strongly preferred. In-depth knowledge of insurance preferred

The expected pay for this position is listed below:

$17.99 - $22.48
