Job summary

Lumexa Imaging, in partnership with American Health Imaging, announces a full-time Patient Service Representative position for the West Ashley imaging center in Charleston, SC. The center is scheduled to open December 2026, with training at Summerville or Mount Pleasant beforehand.

The PSR will schedule exams, verify insurance, handle patient data, and support billing while delivering high-quality customer service in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years experience in medical office or hospital setting.
• Experience in authorizations and insurance verification preferred.
• Ability to handle heavy patient volume.
• Strong customer service and computer skills.
• Medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for diagnostic exams and procedures.
• Assist with authorizations and verifications.
• Check patients in/out and answer multiple phone lines.
• Provide accurate information to billing office and perform insurance verification.
• Ensure accuracy of patient data in the system and manage records.

This new American Health Imaging West Ashley center is scheduled to open inDecember 2026.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Lumexa Imaging partner American Health Imaging has an entry-level Patient Service Representative role open in West Ashley, Charleston, South Carolina. We are looking for a customer-service focused candidate that is looking to excel in a medical office setting!

American Health Imaging of West Ashley: 1013 Physicians Dr. Charleston, SC 29414

This new outpatient imaging center is scheduled to open December 2026. Until the West Ashley opening, the PSR will interview and train in the AHI Summerville and/or Mount Pleasant center.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Schedule Patients for Diagnostic Exams and Procedures
• Assist with Authorization and Verifications
• Checking Patients In / Out
• Answering Multiple Phone Lines
• Provide Accurate and Complete Information to Billing Office
• Insurance Verification
• Ensure Accuracy of Patient Data Entered Into System
• Process Requests and Filing of Patient Records

Requirements:

• 1-4 Years Experience in Medical Office Setting or Hospital
• Experience in Authorizations and Insurance Verification Preferred
• Ability to Handle Heavy Patient Volume
• Strong Customer Service and Computer Skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Medical Terminology Knowledge
