Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Part-time Patient Service Rep in Naperville to perform patient pre-registrations, registrations, and revenue cycle tasks across acute and ambulatory services. You will handle data collection, eligibility checks and coding to secure payments while assisting patients with payment options.

The position requires 2 years in patient accounts or related customer service in healthcare, and familiarity with insurance terms and medical terminology. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required; associates degree preferred.
• 2 years of registration, scheduling, patient accounts, cash collections or customer service in healthcare.
• Knowledge of health insurances, medical terminology and anatomy.
• Strong data entry and keyboarding skills; bilingual abilities are a plus.
• A valid driver's license may be required for off-site locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-registrations, registrations, order management, charge capture and cash collection for in-patient, out-patient, ER and same-day surgery patients.
• Collect and record demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data from multiple sources.
• Screen for third-party eligibility and enter medical necessity coding to ensure payment.
• Interact with patients and families to explain revenue cycle expectations and payment options.

Hourly Pay Range:$18.38 - $26.65 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.Position Highlights:Position: Patient Service RepLocation: 1220 Hobson, NapervillePart Time 24 hoursHours: may vary M-F and Sat am rotationRequired Travel: Yes - PlainfieldThis role includes some travel to other locations and requires flexible hours to meet operational needsWhat you will do:Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, responsible for providing in-patient, out-patient, emergency room, immediate care and same day surgery patients with timely and accurate pre-registrations, registrations, order management, charge capture, cash collection functions and medical information systems.Collects, analyzes and records demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data from multiple sources and obtains other information and signatures necessary for the above processes. Screens for third-party eligibility and enters medical necessity coding to ensure accurate payment is secured.Interacts in a customer-focused manner to ensure the needs of patients and their families are met and that they understand the hospital's revenue cycle expectations, including resolution of personal liabilities through various payment options.What you will need:High School or GED RequiredAssociates Degree Business Administration/Management Preferred2 Years of registration, scheduling, patient accounts, cash collections or customer service experience in a healthcare settingManual dexterity to operate various office machinesKnowledge of health insurances, medical terminology and anatomyStrong data entry and keyboarding skillsKnowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteBilingual skillsA valid driver’s license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off site location.
