Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Mount Laurel Township is seeking a front-desk associate responsible for greeting and assisting patients with check-in and check-out processes. Candidates must have a minimum of one year of relevant experience, with a preference for those with customer service background.

Position Summary: Responsible for greeting and assisting patients, patient check‑in, and patient check‑out, scheduling appointments, confirming next‑day appointments, verifying insurance, collecting copayments, securing pre‑authorizations, entering charges in the EMR and practice management system. Monitors administrative and clinical inboxes in EMR and carries out medication refill requests, appointment requests, testing follow‑up, and referrals. Provides follow‑up to unresolved patient questions and ensures continuity of care. Reliable transportation required.
Experience
Required: Minimum one year front‑desk experience in a physician practice or outpatient ambulatory care setting. Computer and EMR (Athena a plus) experience required. Knowledge of medical insurance, terminology, and office routines.
Preferred: Cardiovascular practice experience. Two to four years of customer‑service experience a plus.
Education
Required: HS Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Associate’s degree preferred; experience may substitute degree.
License and Credentials
Preferred: Certified Medical Assistant a plus.
Skills
Required: Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, colleagues, and insurance reps. Knowledgeable with EMR systems (Athena preferred). Maintains practice patient activity records and produces reports as requested.
Preferred: Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
Hours: Full‑time, 80 hours per pay period.
The minimum starting rate for this position is $18.20.
