Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a Security Officer for the College Hill Campus to support patient, visitor, and staff safety. The role involves patrols, access control, and handling routine complaints, with emphasis on professional communication and calm restraint support when required.

The position is full-time, evening shift, 40 hours per week, with a focus on safeguarding hospital premises and ensuring compliant visitor management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to complete TCI training and receive TCI certification within 6 months of your employment start date.
• Physical strength, stamina, agility, and ability to perform tasks safely.
• Stand for extended periods; walk, stoop, kneel, twist/turn, and lift/carry up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Investigation - respond to and address routine complaints; engage resources to address concerns.
• Monitor - direct traffic and parking, escort individuals, control access, and ensure safety.
• Assist clinical staff with patient restraint as required and maintain safety.
• Patrol - oversee buildings and grounds, badge visitors, report hazards, and ensure compliant access.
• Visitor Management - enforce visitor policies and provide appropriate access.
