Job summary

UC Health is seeking a Security Officer to protect associates, patients, visitors, and facilities at the Cincinnati campus. The role requires patrols, incident documentation, and enforcement of regulations to maintain a safe environment.

Candidates should have an associate degree in criminal justice or security management, and at least two years in security or related fields, with IAHSS certification within 12 months. This is a full-time, on-site position with UC Health’s security team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in criminal justice or security management preferred.
• IAHSS security officer certification within 12 months of employment.
• Two years of experience in law enforcement/public safety/security.
• Basic police training preferred; experience with multiple computer programs (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Patrol property and facilities by foot, bike, or patrol vehicle to ensure a safe environment and respond to alarms and calls.
• Investigate and document reports of criminal or unusual activity and policy violations.
• Conduct inspections to identify hazards and submit work requests when needed.
• Enforce UC Health policies and regulations; may testify in court.
• Perform monthly safety checks, fire extinguisher and alarm system checks.
• Maintain knowledge of current trends in security, safety, and protective best practices.
